I don’t know about you, but I know about me, by being 30 something I didn’t want to subject my friends to the same old traditional weddings that all of us have been to, countless times. Now, I am not knocking those weddings, but I know for certain, they aren’t Bing and I, at all. I like whimsical, carnivalesque parties and live music. So my husband and I wanted to do something dashingly memorable for ourselves and for our family and friends.
Style Me Pretty and Offbeat Bride are great blogs for for the traditional and the weird. I am more offbeat than pretty, so I went for the more unconventional route. I was inspired by the food truck craze that has been going around. So after reading about Food Trucks in 2011, I needed to make this happen!
Inspiration hit, and here is what came out of it. Bing and I are so lucky to have our family and friends to help execute our ideas. Bing and I decided that we would get married at City Hall on a “Chinese Lucky Day”, and have a Chinese reception to appease our parents, and we planned our wedding in our own style in the month after on another “Chinese Lucky Day”! We were off to the races! We had a short time period to plan, and we threw a casual elegant lunch wedding for our dear friends and family.
Only pictures can at most describe our beautiful day, so please have a look at our gallery.
