Kekou Gelato’d Into my Heart

Kekou Gelato House is this delicious little shop on Baldwin Street, close to McCaul Street. There are a plethora of flavours that are Asian inspired, and delightful.

I walked into there and the first thing I had asked was “Are we allowed to sample?”. I got the go-ahead. Right away I jumped on the durian flavored gelato. Durian is this prickly fruit that, to some people smell like an aromatic, pungent fruit (I love it), and to others, a dirty old sock soaked in water. I urge you (per my HK food story) to try everything at least once ;). I loved the durian gelato and wished the sweet employee gave me a more generous heaping.

The next flavour I had combined with the durian was black sesame. It tasted just right and it wasn’t too sweet. Now that was a huge scoop.

I got to sample The guava plumsalt, and I think it was more plum salty than the guava.

Bing ordered cashew and peanut sesame. The cashew was very true to the taste, as were the peanut sesame. I preferred the latter flavour between his 2.

Will I be back for more? Hella yes, it’s hella good!!!
