The highly anticipated exhibition David Bowie is will be making its North American debut in Toronto on Wednesday, September 25 at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). Straight form London’s Victoria and Albert Museum this exhibit will include the pop culture icon’s original stage costumes, instruments, album art and music videos. The featured objects span five decade with over 300 items from Bowie’s personal archives and a multi-media presentation showcasing his career and influences in fashion, sound, theatre, art and film.
David Bowie is is the first international exhibition devoted to the British-born musician and performer, who has sold more than 140 million albums to date. The show will immerse visitors in a spectacular and interactive trip through Bowie’s numerous artist experiments like Surrealism, German Expresionism, Music Hall, mime and Japanese Kabuki.
David Bowie is will kick off with an epic opening late-night party on September 27th. Advance tickets are on sale now and includes admission to the exhibit, with timed entry. DJs Luis Jacob and Odessa Paloma Parker will play to the crowd in Walker Court. There will be video tributes to the artist by Toronto new media artist Lorna Mills and an exhibition of memorabilia collected by Toronto artist Andrew Zealley and others.

In addition, on opening day of the exhibition Wednesday, September 25, the AGO will have live music and Bowie impersonators on hands from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm . The public tickets for this evening on the 25th have already sold out BUT the first 200 people to arrive in Bowie costumes will receive free admission to the exhibition that night!
