Soia & Kyo Struts The Catwalk

Soia & Kyo has caught my eye since my sister bought her first coat from them in 2004-5. I was deeply appreciative of the fine, smooth, rounded lines and fashionable creations of each coat. I started collecting my own not long after. For this fashion show, I absolutely had to wear my new-ish, military-like wool coat I purchased off the S&K website. Time to drool for the World Master Card Fashion Week event! I had hoped somebody would notice my coat. The Fashion Week tent was abuzz and the atmosphere was electric. This show is going to rock n’ rolla! The first model stepped out and I was taken away with muted colours. The palette was subtle with the grays, tans and blues. The lines were organic, and the shape of each coat and jacket were sexy. The styles are targeted for young professionals with the mind of looking and feeling confident (Not to mention, affordable price point). I am very excited and now I feel like I need another S&K coat 😉

After the show I noticed in the corner of my eye someone looking at, and circling me. I finally looked up, made eye contact. I got a smile, and a compliment “Nice coat!”. It was the man of the hour, Ilan Elfassy. Yes! The designer himself noticed my coat! I got more than what I expected, and was thrilled to have met him. I had to tell him I own 4 of his coats, and he told me “Wait until you see my Fall Collection.” Yes, I will be waiting patiently 🙂
