Chef’s Table: David Gelb’s Delicious New Netflix Original Docu-series

We’ve had several experiences dining at Michelin-starred restaurants. They are destinations themselves that we will work the rest of our travel itineraries around. We crave to understand what makes these restaurants a cut above. Many of us have this insatiable hunger to learn more about not only the food we eat but also about the most talented chefs in the world and Netflix is about to serve us something sublime! Get ready! The new Original Docu-series CHEF’S TABLE, created by filmmaker David Gelb, will begin streaming on April 26 (12:01 am PT).

Each show will give an opportunity for viewers to go behind the scenes and into the lives and kitchens of these culinary talents.

I can tell you that I’m already hungry for this. David Gelb is already known for his incredible documentary on Jiro Ono in his highly acclaimed film, Jiro Dreams of Sushi which we’ve seen several times and one that my local sushi restaurant has on loop every time we visit. Jiro’s dedicates is life to perfecting sushi – properly prepared rice and creating the right balance between the fish and the rice gives us an understanding of how Sushi should be created and consumed.  Gelb has a way that draws your full and complete attention. It’s his beautiful ability to show inspiring people and their passion for perfection that makes me feel much more involved and engaged.

Chefs in the series include:

  • Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy)
  • Dan Barber (Blue Hill Restaurant at Stone Barns and in New York City, USA)
  • Francis Mallmann (El Restaurante Patagonia Sur in Buenos Aires, Argentina)
  • Niki Nakayama (N/Naka Restaurant in Los Angeles, CA, USE)
  • Ben Shewry (Attica Restaurant in Melbourne, Australia)
  • Magnus Nilsson (Fäviken in Järpen Sweden)
