The Ultimate Wi-Fi Everywhere

Ultimate Wi-Fi. Everywhere. Yup… that’s what I’m talking about.

If you live in a multi-level family home (maybe with a basement as well?) or a custom-built 21,000 sqft custom built mansion on the Bridal Path (I’m looking at you Drake), your lonely Wi-Fi Router is going to need some serious help. Luckily you just heard about the new TP-Link AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender AV1200 Gigabit Powerline KIT from TP-Link (perhaps to match with your equally as hansom TP-Links AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router) and you got a good deal on it off of Amazon or Best Buy.

What’s in the AV1200 Gigabit Powerline KIT?

Inside the box, you will find an Adapter, which plugs into an electrical socket near your router – where you connect the two with the Ethernet cable (included in the box thank you very much). The design of the adapter is thoughtful in that because of the size of it, it will cover both sockets but TP-Links has built in a socket on the adapter itself so you can plug in additional devices if you need to.   You will also find the extender itself, which also requires an electrical socket and this unit does not come with an built-in electrical socket, so plug it into a power bar and you’re good to go.

The AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender in Action

I installed the range extender in the basement of my home where I receive little to no mobile phone signal because of the thick floors, piping and highly soundproof insulation. Whereas traditionally, I’ve had issues with slow upload and download speeds, not to mention getting destroyed in any sort of online gaming situation, the addition of the range extender made a notable different in speed for work activities involving large file sizes, video streaming etc. Sadly however, my gaming skills did not improve at all and I realized that my Wi-Fi was not responsible for sucking at Team Fortress.

Final thoughts

Sometimes we learn to live with less than optimum circumstances and situations and accept them as a part of life. But after experiencing the speed gains after installing the AC1750 Wi-Fi range extender, my recommendation is to just get it. You will be thrilled to have it (You hear me Drake?) and it will work so well that you’ll eventually forget that it’s even there; and for me, that’s a beautiful thing.
