Apple teases out new emoji on World Emoji Day

Happy World Emoji Day!!! Emojis have become part of our day-to-day communication. They help us get across our expressions in a fast, fun and personal way. While everyone from my young nephew to my own mom are using emojis (is it plural when we refer to more than one?), it’s no surprise to hear that Apple is teasing out some of the new emoji that are coming to iOS, macOS and watchOS later this year.

There are thousands of emojis available already and we all have our favourites (insert ramen bowl, coffee mug with a side of teary laughter!) that we use when we message our friends and family. The new emoji coming include a Woman with Headscarf, Bearded Person and Breastfeeding.  New food items like a coconut and a sandwich. There will be creatures like T-Rex, Zebra, Zombie and Elf. And fun new smiley faces will include Star-Struck and an exploding smily face (assuming that is going to be used for mind-blowing situations)!

Also in celebration of World Emoji Day (July 17), the App Store will be highlighting apps to create or do fun things with emoji, and iTunes Movies is featuring a fun spin on a few movie titles.

Any guesses?
