On our radar is Canadian artist Jon Shaw who, by day, is a graphic designer. Outside his day job he is an established urban artist. His award-winning paintings capture the essence of life from city life to country life. He find the beauty in everyday life from street corners to garbage bins and urban decay.
Shaw begins his art often on wood panels. He starts with ink drawings and then manipulating various materials including markers, paint and applies varying textures that I love. His technique brings depth and dimension to every piece.
I AM LUSTING over his most recent piece – the of the corner of Main and Pender (Chinatown) in Vancouver. I’ve been admiring it daily since he’s completed it. It’s spectacular! You’ll want to visit his facebook page to see his other works!
His work will also be featured on the Collective Arts Brewing Artist beer bottle series this coming Fall.
