You’ll want to save the date people and tell CANCER to go and screw itself at this second annual event. On Friday, November 8th, The FUCK CANCER INWYKIWYK™ EVENT TOUR RETURNS TO TORONTO
In support of the UHN Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation.
Events have been taking place in other cities including L.A. and Montreal. The event will also be heading to Ottawa and New York City.
The event was established over three years ago by Julie and Hillel Greenbaum as a tribute to their mom and wife who lost her battle with ovarian cancer. They wanted to come up with fundraising events that is fun and more accessible and way less stuffy than the black-tie affairs. Of course, those are great for the corporate world who can afford the ticket prices and want to get all fancy but FUCK CANCER INWYKIWYK™ EVENTS are alternatives to the traditional while still supporting the commitment to cancer research.
The event in Toronto will take place on Friday, November 8th at CINEMA (135 Liberty Street).
The event in New York will take place on Thursday, November 21st at PACHA NEWYORK.
Guests can gain entry to the party by purchasing an official “FUCK CANCER” t-shirt ($40) and by wearing it to the event – the t-shirt acts as a “ticket”. The shirts can be purchased at fcancerevents.com
ABOUT FUCK CANCER INWYKIWYK™
FUCK CANCER INWYKIWYK ™ is a new and innovative movement to unite the younger generation against a disease that has affected too many lives. INWYKIWYK™ an acronym (It’s Not What You Know, It’s Who You Know) embodies the notion that, in life, we gain strength from the people we know and the relations that we establish around us. By throwing charity events we create an opportunity for people to connect and gain support through meeting other individuals experiencing the same fight against cancer. FUCK CANCER’s goal is to throw events all over North America to give young adults who have, in any way, been affected by the disease, a completely unique bonding experience. Entrance to the event is in the form of a t-shirt, rather than a ticket, that reads “FUCK CANCER” in different colors, representative of various cancer ribbons. Money raised goes directly to major cancer research facilities, including, thus far, Segal Cancer Center of the Jewish General Hospital, in Montreal, Canada, and UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.
