EVENT REPORT: Canadian Fashion Forecast

Photo Credit: Angie SbrocchiI was recently invited to attend the first Canadian Fashion Forecast in Toronto – an event that showcased a few emerging designers in the Canadian fashion and style industry.

The invitation was specified by date and time – yet location was undisclosed. It was to be revealed day of. I  checked my social media network, looked through emails, and found the link to the event organizers, hangrz.com. The venue was  revealed to be at the Fiction Night Club (180 Pearl St).

When I arrived I was given a tour and overview. I settled in and started exploring. Through my explorations, I must say, this hidden gem of a venue, is a sweet spot. Great decor and layout.  It was reminiscent of the old Studio 55 vibe.

White Lace Events, did a superb job at creating the feel of the event. From the atmosphere with paintings of musicians playing their instruments, down to the emerald green lighting on a back drop of blues, pinks and purples, gives off a sexy and intimate vibe.

As I was guided downstairs to the networking booth and lounge, I immediate loved the space. Same lighting theme continued down here with lounge seats and a curtain of beads separating the room.

As I continued, I got to meet and hang with the designers and other partners showcasing their work. A few I met included…

La Stylist  – The official stylist for the event, Toronto’s first mobile cut and styling service, specializing in creative and cutting edge hair styles.

Mayana Geneviere – A collection of high luxe intimate apparel and  life style brand devoted to celebrate the woman and motherhood bridging the gap between high fashion lingerie and as well as maternity undergarments.

Tentiana K  – Highlighted her 2013 Collection which plays with the themes of sexy, nerdy, bookish and cool.

RisKandy – Affordable, edgy in your face wrist wear, one of a kind, customized beaded bracelets.

Benjamin Daedfyshe Footwear – Sneakers designed to be worn with a suit! Huge fan of this look. Love his collection!

Bo.a – Accessories that re-opens the door to new possibilities. Give everything in your closet a new spin.  Bo.a’s edgy line of leather harnesses, body dhains and shoe add-ons.

Stella & Dot – Boutique style jewelry and accessories that are on-trend and affordable

All in all, a great event. I will be following up with individual articles on select designers.
