Canada’s leading luxury retailer announces the H Project spaces in stores across the country will partner with House of Waris to launch Uncrate India. From April 1 to May 31, 2014, the exquisite items found in this shop will support culture, craft and artisans globally as well as products made from sustainable or responsible materials.
Led by Alexandra Weston, Holt Renfrew’s Director of Brand Strategy, this unique initiative, a collaboration with designer Waris Ahluwalia, founder of House of Waris, to bring the stories of this beautiful country and to “uncrate” the richness of culture, artistry and diversity of India.
Alexandra Weston and Waris Ahluwalia journeyed through India, visiting Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur and Mandawa. Throughout their tour they selected an incredible pieces from over 16 designers, from beautiful batik silk scarves to hand-woven rugs and stunning gemstones. The items will be available, along with an exclusive jewellery capsule collection from the House of Waris, as part of the Uncrate India Collection.
“We went on a mission of discovery. Seeking out great talents, incredible objects, fresh interpretations of ancient ideas and products that transcend borders,” said Waris Ahluwalia. “H Project allows us to continue to support traditional techniques and share our passion for craftsmanship with the world.”
