StyleReport: Farley Chatto’s Luxurious Return to WMCFW

Like a scene from a James Bond movie, Canadian Designer Farley Chatto transported us somewhere (I’m dreaming of the French Alps) where nature is absolutely breathtaking. His Fall/Winter 2014 collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week themed “Far and Away” brought images of a luxurious winter ski chalet  and crisp clean snow…not the slushy grey streets we’re so use to seeing in the city!

Chatto’s runway collection included full-length fur coats, vests, jackets and oversized plush accessories including cozy scarves and hats. Impeccably detailed and more fitted looks for women is refreshing and the men’s line carried looks of an English nobleman to the rugged feel of a Nordic outdoorsman. Bursts of colour in red and blue pieces were eye-catching and sophisticated.

Chatto is one of Canada’s most well-known and well-loved in the fashion industry. This Toronto based designer is known for his men’s and women’s lines that are sought after locally and globally. The 44 year old has collaborated with numerous American and European designers and had the opportunity to apprentice with Giorgio Armani. He’s also created costumes for Elton John and worked with many celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker and Drake.
