The 250 piece collection will include apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls, as well as home accents, outdoor entertainment accessories, beach gear, travel essentials and more.
Lilly Pulitzer was founded in 1959 by Lilly (McKim) Pulitzer – a stylish Palm Beach hostess and socialite whose husband Peter Pulitzer owned several citrus groves. Lilly would turn her husband’s fresh oranges into juice, which she sold at a juice stand off the very posh shopping area called Worth Avenue. Lilly always loved to look fashionable (it was Worth Avenue, after all), so she created a line of shift dresses to wear — apparently the prints helped hide any juice spills. Her dresses caught attention from those on shopping the street, including the likes of Jackie Kennedy, and soon Lilly started selling her dresses at the juice stand. So, there the story began! Since then Lilly Pulitzer has become an icon in the American resort wear category with millions of adoring fans.
Last night, Target made the splashy surprise announcement at the Four Seasons Restaurant Pool Room in New York….hurry up spring!
