I like sparkling drinks and I’m a big fan of the SodaStream. You know, the sleekly designed machine that carbonates your water. I admit to being a fan of drinking soda pop but who needs the sugar OR the added calories? That’s why I love this machine so much! I still get the satisfaction of the bubbles but I can control the flavours that go in.
I currently have the SodaStream Play machine that fits nicely tucked away on my kitchen counter. Doesn’t take up much space. BUT hold on! SodaStream Canada just introduced the Power sparkling water maker to the line and it’s the most advanced system to date offering touch-button automatic carbonation and three fizz levels so you can customize how exciting you want your water to be!
You already know that there are flavour syrups readily available on the market (usually found a long side the machine) but I’m a big fan of creating my own natural flavours by steeping my own tea or adding fresh fruit to the carbonated water. Very easy.
This recipe is perfect for the summer and really refreshing! Easy enough to make for yourself or for guests!

- 1 oz Agave syrup
- 1/2 oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 oz Hibiscus Tea
- 1 litre SodaStream sparkling water
Add water to SodaStream container and carbonate. Top with hibiscus tea and SodaStream sparkling water.
In a shaker filled with cubed ice add agave syrup and lemon juice. Shake well and strain into a champagne saucer or glass then top with hibiscus tea infused SodaStream sparkling water.
