Apple Offers Chinese New Year Creative Workshops

I have my eye out for interesting ways to celebrate Chinese New Year and learned that Apple is offering hands-on creative family workshops. Each workshop will start by sharing traditions and explored how to incorporate them in our digital media. Create a short movie, capture and edit a family photo, illustrate an inspiring greeting or record a special message with your family. Then the staff will show you how to share your CNY messages to friends and family.

Since my parents are already amazed at what I can do with my computer, this would be a great experience to take them to try as well! It will be a fun to create something with them especially with all the little monkeys in our family!  And hey, maybe mom can see what else her devices can do besides stream chinese soap operas and play games! By the way, the workshops are offered in multiple languages so even older generations will be more comfortable — I’m sure mine will have lots of questions!

The Chinese New Year workshops are offered for free at participating stores until February 13. Stores included are Richmond Centre, Oakridge Centre, Metrotown, Fairview, Pacific Centre, Markville Shopping Centre, West Edmonton Mall, Eaton Centre, Southgate Centre and Market Mall.

Space is limited so you’ll want to sign up asap! Locations and workshops are found at the link here:

I’ll be checking this out for sure! So follow me on Twitter and Instagram (@theculturepearl) as I’ll be posting my creations. Maybe I’ll even Snapchat my mom and dad!

Happy New Year! Gong Hei Fatt Choy!
