Luxury Beauty Discoveries on

It’s no secret that I love, love, love my beauty products. I’m constantly amazed at the advances in skin care technology especially coming out of Asian countries. Korean brands in particularly are   gaining momentum in North American markets as we’ve seen such retailers as Holika Holika and The Face Shop open up in shopping malls.  Nordic brands like SKYN have adapted to some Asian skin care technology with their stellar line up of ingredients. A brand I’m very fond of and is just one that I’ve recently noticed is offered within the “luxury beauty” category on

Why did I go online for beauty products? Well, it’s was late at night and I couldn’t sleep. I had heard that Amazon Prime Day was happening this week (July 12) and I started to just, you know, take a peek in all sorts of categories. We already know the convenience of shopping online. No brainer. As we are looking for ways to save time (and potentially money) heading online can certainly help especially when we know what we like. Beauty brands are the same.

As a long time lover of brands like L’Occitane I already know what products I need and want on a regular basis. I noticed free shipping was available on the items I wanted too. Bonus! Then there are brands that I’ve been recently reviewing that are harder to find so it was a real score to order them hassle-free.

tenoverten is one of the brands that is hard to find but worth seeking out. I’ve fallen in love with the long-lasting line and this summer I’m all over the colour “watts”.  This non-toxic nail colour and care line originated from a New York, Tribeca salon where co-founders Nadine Abramcyk and Adair Ilyinsky wanted to offer a proper nail salon in a relaxing and caring environment . It’s since grown to five locations extending also to Austin, Texas. In 2011, the tenoverten polish and nail care collection was launched to fulfill their desire for a more natural alternative. The line is touted as 8-free. That is, no formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl, tosylamide, xylene, and TPHP. The products are also cruelty free, vegan and made in the US. They are making waves all over the US beauty magazines from Vogue, The New York Times and Health Magazine.

Jane IredaleMy latest order on also include Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen after I had discovered the PureLash lash extender & conditioner from the same line. The powdered sunscreen comes translucent (and 2 other shades available). Having read the ingredients, I already know that Titanium Dioxide and natural clay minerals help soothe skin and is an ideal chemical-free sunscreen that would work well for me. I’ve been looking for an alternative to wearing sunscreen on my sensitive skin that could double up as a matte powder on the days I just don’t want to apply a lotion.

The PureLash conditioning mascara has worked it’s magic on my lashes with a simple one swipe of the wand before applying my regular mascara. The nourishing conditioner helps strengthen each fine hair making them appear thicker as a result.

Jane Iredale is a mineral based cosmetics company. In fact, she was the first to supply the beauty industry with a line of makeup that had skin care benefits after noticing the skin issues with models and actresses in her career in the entertainment industry. Jane was able to see skin sensitivities first had. Today, her line is loved in over forty countries.
